Policy statement for Research Lookups Many researchers, over the course of time, accumulate a great deal of source references. One of our goals here, is to provide a medium in which a person can request that a reference work be checked for information relating to his/her particular research. The webmaster, through donations of material, personal collections, and the contributions of other family researchers, has a large library of references and primary data relating to the Massachusetts area. Others have material relating to other areas. The "Bibliography" link , will take you to a list of materials available for reference and an email link to those that hold the material. These researchers are willing to perform "lookups" in a given volume, if the following "guidelines" are adhered to. Please remember that this is a volunteer service and that we all have families and other events in life that preclude being a 24 hour service... (smile). 1.) Please limit your request to ONE (1) individual per request, and mention the volume or work you wish checked. 2.) Please be patient and do not expect an entire novel in response. We are here to assist in looking up records and all information returned will have full source citations; We are not here to do your work for you - Nor will we. 3.) Some of us live near large Archives. Requests for material from these archives can be made, but expect to be asked for reimbursement of costs. This is between you and the individual performing the service and this website will not interfere, nor arbitrate, in these matters. 4.) Use the Lookup Request Form, by clicking here, or from the link on the previous page ("Up" button at left) 5.) Return the service! If you have materials that might not be listed, return the assistance to others! Send us your name, with the information you are willing to look in, and we will add your name to the list!! 6.) Expenses - if you wish copies or original records, expect to pay at LEAST the costs involved with obtaining them for you. Webmaster -
