During the past several months I have found myself citing the quaker records of Sandwich MA on numerous occassions. Because there appears to be a need for easy access to these records I am publishing the following excerpts. But first, please note: 1. These are excerpts only, not complete records. There are many more entries concerning lateral fines Wings, Giffords, etc.). In addition, these excerpts are not always complete (e.g., attendance lists in the marriage records are not always totally extracted). 2. As with any reproduction of records there are bound to be errors. Although these excerpts have been double checked against the microfilms and spot checked against the originals) there will be typos as well as mistakes in reading the old faded script. 3. These are church records, not official records. It is obvious from the arrangement of the data and the handwritting that much of the data were written at one time (e.g. all the births of a family were recorded at one time, after-the‑fact). As such, there will be errors caused by the original recorder in recording data that may be up to 50 years old at the time of recording. 4. If you find data important to your research PLEASE CONFIRM THEM BY LOOKING AT THE MICROFILM OR ORIGINALS. These records are available on LDS microfilm #0011330. The original records are located at the Rhode Island Historical Society at Providence RI. 5. If you find what you confirm to be an error, please let me know so that I can correct my records. 6. I am currently in the process of indexing the Sandwich MA Quaker Monthly Meeting Records. I expect the final product to constitute several volumes. The format will be considerably different from the excerpts given below; for one thing, the new format will include more documenting information. Anyone have any suggestions on the indexing formats?
