Article 56
“BITS AND PIECES III”
  by Glenn Lukos

The family data for Thomas [1] was given in article #7 of the first issue. It was noted that he had 7 children, 4 girls (Hannah, Desire, Mary, and Mehitable) and 3 boys (Thomas, Samuel, and Tristram). Little or nothing is known about the 4 daughters (someone please prove me wrong) . Virtually all of the Bowermans of today and some of the Bowmans, are descended from Thomas [2]. Samuel [2] died at age 25 (presumably without children). But what about Tristrum, the youngest of Thomas' children?

I recently found the following information during a visit to the New England Historic and Genealogical Society Library in Boston. The data is from Vital Records of Rhode Island, 1636‑1850, Vol 6 ‑ Bristol Co ., by James N. Arnold (Providence RI; Narragansett Historical Publishing Co., 1894) pp 9, 65, and 120.

Thus, apparently Tristrum did have a family, a large one at that. And at least one of his sons, in turn, had children. So what happened to this branch of the Bowerman family? Anyone with information please write to the newsletter and we will  publish the additional information.
