Record of the Last Will and Testament Of Joseph Bowerman. Deceased.
Be it remembered that heretofore upon due application to the Surrogate of the County of Dutchess Citations were duly issued requiring the heirs and next of kin of said decd to attend the
probate of said duly returned served and the proper parties being in Court said Surrogate took the proofs and examinations of Said Will & said Will and said examinations are as Follows Viz: The last will and testament of Josph Bowerman of the town of Poughkeepsie in the County of Dutchess I, Joseph Bowerman being of sound mind and and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament as follows. First I give to my wife Phebie the sum of five hundred dollars I also give to her the use of my homestead place and farm for and during her life The above to be taken and accepted by her in lieu and bar of dower in my estate. Second I give to my daughter Matura the sum of One Thousand dollars. Third, I give to each of my daughters Susannah Tanner, Philadelphia Corning, Sarah Gregory and Rachel Cosford the sum of three hundred dollars. Fourth The rest and residue of my estate real and personal I give to all my grandchildren living at the time of my death share and share alike And I further order and direct that on the death of my said wife my said executors hereafter named and appointed shall sell and convey my said homestead place and farm the use of which is above given to my said wife and divide the net proceeds of such sale among all my grandchildren that may be living at the time of my death share and share alike. Lastly I hereby nomin ate and appoint George Tanner {of Canada } George Duel and Levi Arnold of Dutchess County the executors of this my will hereby giving to my Said exec Utors and the survivor or survivors of them full power and authority to convey out The provisions and directives of this will and I hereby revoke any and all former will or wills by me made.
