John T. attended in 1891 at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada, "He had taken his M.A. degree at Queen's University, Kingston, in 1891, where he won the Prince of Wales' medal for natural science, and also specialist honors in the same subject."
John T. Bowerman died in April 1904 in Ottawa, Canada,, He was stricken with apoplexy in his 49th year, in the midst of a brilliant career as a scholar and teacher.
