Gideon Bowerman was born in January 1812. He was the son of Benoni Bowerman and Rebecca Hill.
Gideon, age 31, married Mary Bedell, daughter of Elias Beadle, on 16 May 1843 in Hallowell Township, Prince Edward Co., Ontario Province, Canada, officiated by Rev. James Rogers , Presbyterian Witnesses to the marriage were Vincent Striker and Hugh Arthur.1
Research Note: The Birth, death and Burial dates were obtained from a gedcom file sent by Lon Bowerman. This is unproven data in which Lon writes, "According to Ann Genereaux (see e:mail correspndence around 9/28/01), her gg grandfather is Gideon and he was taken in by Stephen and Amy Bowerman after Benoni's death. She may have gotten this information from A. C. Bowerman's writings where he states Gideon married Mary Beadle Daughter of Elias Beadle of Bloomfield, Gideon was a protegee of his uncle Stephen Bowerman Sr. and married the grand-daughter of Isaac Beadle, at one time Stephen's partner in the "salt-well" which was later on the Beadle farm."
