Rhoba is buried in Yeomans Cemetery in Milan Township along with her sons Sands and Joseph. I do not know where Maltiah is buried - possibly he is in the same cemetery, but his stone had disappeared by the time Dr. Poucher made his survey. There certainly seems to be enough room between Rhoba's grave and the cemetery wall for another grave. The only thing I could make out clearly on Rhoba's stone was her name: RHOBA near the top (could be "RHODA", but that letter looks more like a "B" than a "D" to me). The rest of the inscription was too badly blurred and eroded for me to be able to read..

Joseph A. Bowman was born on 14 April 1801 in Milan, Dutchess Co., NY, USA, (Another source shows this date as being 7 Dec 1799).1 He was the son of Melatiah Bowman and Rhoba Arnold.1
Joseph A. married Maria Badgely, daughter of Joshua Badgely and Hester Storm, in 1818 in Dutchess Co., NY, USA.2
Joseph A. Bowman died on 21 May 1867 in Arthursburg, Dutchess Co., NY, USA,, at the age of 66 years, 1 month and 7 days.1 He has also been reported to have died 26 May 1867 Yeoman Ground Cemetery, Dutchess Co., NY, USA.3

Research Note:  BFH:329, shows the birth year and death date as above, as well as the location of burial. It should be noted that a conflict in this data arises in light of the following:

In a survey of the Yeoman Ground Cemetery by J.W. Poucher, "Old Gravestones of Dutchess County, New York", published in 1924, pages 163-164, the following entries are found [Yeoman's Cemetary is between Pine Plains and Red Hook in the town of Lafayetteville. It is located off the Taconic Parkway 1/4 mile south of Route 199 on the West side of the parkway.]:

2. Bowman, Albert, b. 1820, Feb. 28, d. 1899, Mar. 18
3. Bowman, Joseph A., d. 1867, May 26, a. 67-5-19; Maria, his wife, d. 1875, Apr. 20, a. 75 y.
4. Bowman, Louisa, w. of Albert, & dau, of Wilbur & Eighmie Story, d. 1864, Mar. 31. a. 28 y. 27 d.
5. Bowman, Louisa, dau. of J. S. & Jane, d. 1873, Dec. 7, a. 3-8-5.
6. Bowman, Rhoda, w. of Maltia, d. 1871, Sep. 8, a. 94 y.
7. Bowman, Sands, d. 1837, Oct. 23, a. 29-8-17.

[Note the presence of Rhoba (not Rhoda) Bowerman, the mother of Joseph A., and his brother Sands]

In a more recent survey of this cemetery, provided by Garry and Judi Wilkinson, the following entries are found:

68. Rhoda BOWMAN died Sept 10, 1871 94 yrs (wife of Malliah BOWMAN)
69. Joseph H BOWMAN died May 26, 1867 62 yrs
70. Maria BOWMAN died April 20, 1877 75yrs (wife of Joseph BOWMAN)
71. Louisa A BOWMAN died Dec 2, 1878
72. Albert BOWMAN Feb 28, 1820 - March 18, 1899
73. Louisa STORY BOWMAN died March 31, 1864 28 yrs 2 mos 27 days (wife of Albert Bowman and daughter of Wilbur & Ann STORY)
74. Clarissa BOWMAN NORTHRUP 1836-1907 (wife of Mortimer C NORTHRUP)

At the Ancestral Photographs Of Upstate New York Website [authored by Bowerman Researcher Roxy Triebel], the following may be found:

Joseph A. Bowman (1799-1867) married in 1818 to Maria Badgley (ca. 1800-1875). They had eight children and are buried in Yeoman Cemetery. Joseph's stone is broken into two pieces. It reads:

JOSEPH A. BOWMAN
DIED
MAY 26, 1867

& 19 D's

I assume the rest of Joseph's age at death has been broken off or is below ground on the broken-off top part. Maria's stone reads:

MARIA
Wife of
Joseph A. Bowman
died
April 20, 1875
Aged 75 years

It stands to reason that this could actually be the proper death date and burial site of this families Joseph A. Bowerman. Further research and proper documentation of the above marriage could lend a positive solution to this conflict.
