• Research Notes*: Research Note:  Dr. Timothy Cooper included the following in his notes to me: "Listed dates on headstone are 1839-1917. (Sarah) Catherine is a Quaker, born in Ontario and of English origin. Ancestry.com notes indicate marriage 28 Jan 1861 which seems unlikely, unless that was the Presbyterian marriage and the previous had just been a Quaker ceremony. [Dr. Cooper did not include data to explain this notation - rll]

            The next door neighbours of the Parks according to the 1881 census are S.D. Bowerman (50) and carpenter, his wife, Elisabeth, 42 and German, son John F, 23, William A., 21, MAry E. 10, all born in Ontario. S.D. could be Sarah Catherine's brother, Samuel david."

  UPDATE: After obtaining marriage and death records for this couple, a question has arisen as to the parentage of Sarah Catherine. Both records indicate that her parents were Ichabod and Anna (Stevenson) Bowerman, and NOT Ichabod and Elizabeth (Stebbings) Bowerman.
