All children previous (except Ichabod) and after have been recorded [Falmouth VR 6]. BFH 131 cites Falmouth TR as proof of this birth, however the record is not found.

Further research is required to substantiate this claim.

  • Marriage*: Jane married Joseph Bowman after 1733.3,2,1
  • Married Name: As of after 1733, her married name was Jane Bowman.
  • Research Notes*: Research Note:  BFH 131 states that Jane was a daughter of Thomas Bowerman and Jane Clifton. A search of Falmouth and Sandwich Vital Records does not reveal this birth, nor a record of the marriage. BFH continues on asking "was this the Jospeh Bourman Junr and wife Jane who took a removal certificate from Sandwich Monthly meeting to Vasselborough, ME 9d 6m 1781 (or 1787?) [SMM]"

BFH further questions the identity of Joseph as possibly being the s. of Samuel and Rose (Landers) Bowerman, b. 29d 9m 1744, or the s. of Benjamin and Hannah (Wing) Bowerman, b c1730, and reportedly "died young" [GNBF 83].

Further research is required at this time to establish this individual as a daughter of Thomas and Jane (Clifton) Bowerman.

  • Birth*: Deborah Bowerman was born after 1 April 1733, daughter of Thomas Bowerman and Jane Clefton.1,2,3
  • Research Notes*: Research Note:  BFH 131, Milliken 2:171, and GNBF 83, all name Deborah as a child of Thomas and Jane Bowerman. No record of this birth exists in Falmouth or Sandwich Vital Records (which include the Sandwich MM extracts), while the births of the other children are all recorded (with exception of Ichabod). It is well known and established that Milliken referenced GNBF, as did many early Bowerman reearchers, and that much of the "Beekman Patent" references are not sufficiently documented, having come from personal accounts.

It is my current belief that this was an error of early research and this child should NOT be attributed to this couple, at this time. Further research is required.  [See source citations below for reference]1,3,2
