He was a co-applicant on the Patent Application of Jacob Chronkite Bowerman on 21 August 1861 at Port Perry, Reach, Ontario, Ontario, Canada; for an "Improved Carding Machine" with his brother and uncle, Amos Bowerman.
     Willet Dorland Bowerman died on 1 October 1901 in Port Perry, Ontario, Canada,, at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 26 days. He was buried after 1 October 1901 at Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert, Reach Township, Ontario, Ontario, Canada.
