Nelson enlisted for military servce in the Civil War with Company F, 36th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry on 7 March 1864 at Madison, WI, USA. He ended military service in the (an unknown value) on 12 July 1865 at Jefferson, IN, USA.
     Nelson Henry, age 35, married Laura A. Fields, age 23, on 20 July 1882 in Congregational Church, Beloit, WI, USA, officiated by Henry P. Higley , Pastor. He applied for Pension Certificate # 931506 on 11 August 1896.
     Nelson Henry Bowerman died on 25 December 1928 in Sacramento, CA, USA,, at the age of 82 years and 21 days. He was buried after 25 December 1928 at IOOF Lawn Cemetery, Sacramento, CA, USA.
